È  tempo di luce dorata e lunghe e tiepidi notti, è tempo per girare e rilassarsi, fare lunghe nuotate di prima mattina, è il momento per la dolce musica che si propaga nell’aria…E qui, nelle vostre mani, vi ritrovate la colonna sonora perfetta per tutti quei momenti magici, la promessa di un’avventura, scorcio sull’esotico, una collezione cosmopolita di belle canzoni.

Lazy Summer II è la mia ultima visione del suono dell'estate, è una selezione super-eclettica creata attraverso la mia esperienza suonando in cocktail bar, locali notturni e ristoranti improvvisati nella mia città natale, Londra, ammirando i tramonti e partecipando a feste a bordo piscina a Ibiza, suonando nei festival all’aperto in grio per l’Europa e registrando il mio show radiofonico settimanale Melodica.

Questa è musica dolce ma con carattere, realizzata da artisti appassionati di suono, melodia, emozioni, che si  spingono oltre i confini, dando tutto quello che hanno avuto a loro disposizione per fare qualcosa di veramente eccezionale.

Ma qui non si parla solo di cose nuove… Il taglio moderno di Nicolas Jaar e Scuba è ben bilanciato dai classici Balearici di Al Stewart e Harpers Bizarre; ci sono classici rifatti con un piglio nuovo, c’è Adem che osa affrontare i Beach Boys con 'God Only Knows con appena un ukulele e la sua voce e vince la sua personalissima  sfida, Hercules and Love Affair che trascinano It's Alright, un house-classic di Sterling Void, nel ventunesimo secolo riattualizzandolo.

Troverete anche alcune particolarità tipo il monologo di Wolfgang Flür dei Kraftwerk sulla base realizzata da Cultural Attaches o la mia voce sul brano dei Normalites; Paul Kalkbrenner coi ritmi frenetici di Platscher affiancato dal nuovo soul di Letherette, mentre Steffi ci porta nel perfetto suono di Berlino e Sepalcure ci rituffa nelle atmosfere di New York.

C'è elettronica, acustica, morbida techno, post-dubstep e ogni sorta di genere non ancora catalogato in un flusso di vecchio, nuovo, piacevole, sorprendente, bello…è tutto qui e tutto ha un senso alla luce del sole.

Lazy Summer II is my latest distillation of the sound of summer, it's a super-eclectic selection created from my experiences playing cocktail bars, night clubs and pop-up restaurants in my home town, London; from spinning sunsets and poolside parties in Ibiza; festivals in sunny fields all over Europe; and from making Melodica, my weekly radio show.

This is mellow music with character and attitude, made by artists who are passionate about sound, melody, emotion; who are pushing boundaries, giving everything they've got to make something truly exceptional.

But it's not just about the new. The cutting edge modern of Nicolas Jaar and Scuba is balanced nicely by Balearic classics from Al Stewart and Harpers Bizarre. And there are new takes on classics too, Adem dares to tackle the Beach Boys' God Only Knows with just a ukelele and his voice, and wins; Hercules and Love Affair drag It's Alright, Sterling Void's house classic, (gently) into the twenty first century.

There are some oddities too, Wolfgang Flür from Kraftwerk delivers a fine monologue on Cultural Attaches' Golden Light and I get to sing on The Normalites' song for the future, More To Come. Paul Kalkbrenner's frantic Platscher sits happily next to Letherette's soulful Cherryade. Steffi's ultimate Berlin cool brushes up again Sepalcure's New York atmospherics.
There is electronica, acoustica, mellow techno, post-dubstep and all sorts of other genres that don't even have names yet. Old, new, delightful, surprising, beautiful; it's all here and it all makes sense in the sunshine.
